These terms are an agreement between you and Shan Nirmala, trading as Nodemint, in Sri Lanka ("we", "us"), about your use of the Cently app and the services it connects to. By using Cently you accept them.

1. Accepting these terms

By downloading, opening or using Cently you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. If you use Cently on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

2. Who may use Cently

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, to use Cently.

3. Where Cently is available

Cently is offered worldwide through the Apple App Store and Google Play, in every country those stores serve, and works in any currency. We make no claim that it satisfies the law of every country; using it where that would break local law is your responsibility, and you may not use it where you are barred from receiving software under applicable sanctions or export rules.

4. Cently is not your bank

We are not a bank, a payment service, a financial institution or a licensed adviser, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any bank or card issuer. Cently never asks for your banking credentials, never signs in to a bank on your behalf, and never moves money. Bank and merchant names appear only because they are in messages on your own phone or in what you type; they belong to their owners.

5. The service

Cently is a personal finance tracking app. Core functionality (manual transaction entry, budgets, accounts, categories, on-device SMS/notification parsing) works fully offline and is free to use. Cently Pro is an optional paid tier unlocking additional features (see in-app paywall for current pricing and included features).

6. Your data

You own your financial data. Cently's Privacy Policy describes exactly what is or isn't sent off your device. You may export or permanently delete your data at any time (Settings → Privacy dashboard).

7. Subscriptions and billing

Cently Pro subscriptions are billed and managed through the app store you installed Cently from (Google Play / Apple App Store), via RevenueCat. Cancellation, refunds, and billing disputes are handled per that store's standard policies. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends — exact terms are shown before you start a trial.

8. No financial advice

Cently surfaces insights (spending patterns, subscription detection, budget suggestions) derived automatically from your own data. Nothing in the app is financial, tax, accounting, legal or investment advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to do anything with your money.

9. Accuracy, and checking your own figures

Cently reads bank messages and receipts automatically, and any automatic reading can be wrong or incomplete: a message can be missed, a merchant can be misread, an amount can be misread, and a duplicate can slip through. Cently is a personal record, not a statement of account. Your bank's own records are the authority and you should check anything that matters against them. Decisions you make using the app are yours.

10. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available. Features may change, and free features may become paid or be withdrawn, with notice in the app or on this page where the change is material. The app itself keeps working offline regardless of the service.

11. Your responsibilities, and claims

You agree to use Cently only for your own lawful, personal or household finances, and not to:

  1. break any law, or use the app to record or further unlawful activity;
  2. attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, its parsing or its encryption;
  3. use another person's account, or share bank messages that are not yours to share;
  4. submit false or misleading reports, claims or chargebacks about the app or about us.

We may suspend or end access to the paid service for a person who does any of the above, and we may refuse a refund the store allows us to refuse in that case. You are responsible for claims brought against us that arise from your own breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the app, to the extent the law allows.

12. Other services Cently uses

Buying Pro goes through the Apple App Store or Google Play, recorded for us by RevenueCat. Ask Cently, if you turn it on, sends your question and a few totals to our server and on to OpenAI. Sign-in codes are delivered by our email provider. Those companies' own terms apply to what they do; the Privacy Policy says exactly what reaches each of them.

13. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

Cently is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will read every bank message correctly — you remain responsible for checking the figures that matter to you against your bank.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, or financial decisions you make using the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Cently in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

Your data lives on your device. Keeping your own backups, and your recovery phrase if you use sync, is your responsibility: a lost recovery phrase means your synced data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us, which is a direct consequence of the encryption being end-to-end.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the rights your own country's consumer law gives you.

15. If part of these terms does not hold

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term at some point does not waive it. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Cently. We may transfer them to a successor of the business; your rights stay the same.

16. Changes to these terms

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date, and announced in the app where they affect what you pay or what leaves your device. Continuing to use Cently after a change means you accept the updated terms.
